so stupid of me to request for my off day to be today! i overlooked on the fact that i'm going on leave starting on monday. i usually request for my saturdays to be off cos i hate to work on saturday. argh :( . so i have to return to work for just one more day before i'm away from work for a week long.
but still.. i'm sooooooo looking forward to the hk trip! :) its free and easy. i've got the flight and accomodation settles on the net. the itinerary self-planned. the boyf speaks fluent cantonese and i'm quite good in getting arnd hk. hopefully i'm not asked to wait for a room for like 2 hours? lol.
the hotel has been running on a full occupancy for the past few days. one of the day was even on a overbooked situation. HOW COOL! for a hotel that is going through renovation works. i must say the hotel is doing real good in times like this. so it was
ohmygod super freaking busy these few days. the particular day we were overbooked, none of us on the mid and afternoon went for break. its not that we didnt want to, but didnt have the chance to! thank god the management was nice enough to pack us the mandarin chicken rice for dinner!
and so, none of us really looked forward to work esp during these days. its scolding and more scolding from guest cos it was so difficult to meet that needs and request. basically there were no rooms available at any point of time 'cept for the presidential suites! simply stressed-out. was down on flu due to overworking. :(
we had this big group staying in house from india/iran/pakistan. i wonder if its their holidays now in the country. cos there's so many of them lar. they're rather 难搞 and 麻烦 and more -ve things. i'm quite lucky to say that i dont really have any direct interaction with them. but yesterday at work, an indian couple approach my counter. they told me they are on their honeymoon trip and they have received a bottle of wine from the hotel in celebration for their newly wed. in short this is what happen:
jenn: hi, good afternoon sir. how can i help?
indian man: yes, the wine your hotel has given us. it says on the bottle that it is best to be drank after 1-2years. i read, and it was manufactured in year2005. its already expired, can you get someone to replace it.
jenn: is the wine a red wine sir?
indian man: yesyes, its the red wine.
jess: (whispers) i thought it should be long the better
jenn: erm sir, red wine should be drank after 1-2years and not within the 1-2years for the better quality of it. red wine does not expired after 2 years, in fact its the best time to drink it now after 4years.
indian man: oh really? (not believing me!)
kns. den sampson join in to deliver his knowledge of wine to the guest. finally the guest left us.. not very sure if he really believe us anot. lol.
i'm glad its gonna be over soon. plus i'm going away for a break!
