i shall not procrastinate this any further!

i told myself i should at least get the first day of the langkawi trip pen down by today before i get too lazy, starts to forget the details and den..... ended up not publishing any at all! (just like what happen to my hk trip in hk..lol) alrightys, here goes:

departed sg at 0910hrs on board AK3543 direct flight to langkawi. we arrived at the beautiful isalnd after the 1hr 20mins journey. darling and i was seperated on the plane cos we did not book our seats in advance. he was sitting just right behind me, and the good thing was we both get window seats! :) this is the shortest flight i had taken so far. which is quite good thing to me lar. cos i dont have to sit till my butts numb on the plane. trying to fall asleep sitting upright. lol.

the langkawi airport holds one airbus at any time for arrivals or departure (and a few private jets around). so that gave us plenty time to take a good picture with the airplane. it took us quite some time before we got out of the airport though. first was queueing up to get our temperature scan. den we got to fill up this health declaration form after passing the scan and submit it on the spot before we can join the queue to clear the custom. :(

18ringgit got us to the Meritus Pelangi Beach & Spa Resort along the Pantai Cenang Beach. the hotel is just 15mins away from the airport! Valerie, the guest services manager greeted us at the lobby and assisted us to check-in. sadly, not porters was around at that time to help us with the luggage. early check in has been pre arranged for. but the key was with the engineering changing some bulb in the room when we arrived. we were served welcome drink while we waited at the lobby lounge. shortly after, a buggy drove us to our room.

the room is so pretty! the balcony faces the swimming pool and has a walk in wardrobe :) though the bathroom is rather squeezy, but i'm okay with it. cos i spent most of my time on the super king size bed lazing around! and that's the first thing we did, SLEEP! i was so tired after the flight lar. and i was still working the day before, so i needed the rest.

we woke close to 3 in the afternoon. feeling hungry, we went to look for food. we settled at Spize Market Restaurant located within the hotel. i had Marina Fettucine which tasted great with the fresh spread of seafood! darling's Kampung Fried Rice looks delicious too. one thing good abt dining in house restaurant is you get to sign the bill to the room account and settle it later. so you get more cash on hand. but of cos, its much more expensive.

swimming after the walk at the pool right outside our room. by the way, the hotel has 2 swimming pools and 2 ponds! and the day time is longer than night in langkawi. so it was still bright at 7plus in the evening! we only realised tt when we were feeling hungry for dinner. by the time we got ready for dinner.. its alr 8plus! so we decided to dine in again in the hotel BBQ buffet restaurant.

on the way, we dropped by at the recreation counter to book our tickets to Pulau Payar the Marine Park for the next day. darling signed up for inductory diving and i chose snorkelling over intro dive :)

okays, the meal cost the most and yet, wasnt a fantastic meal. :( the steak was too hard and most of the items had alr ran out and it took them ages to get them replenished. but the fish was not too bad to the darling's tastebud. chicken satay was one of the best but it was out most of the time. the prawns are my favourite. the ambience was thumbs up! cos we were seated along the beach, with the sea breeze blowing. great place for a very romantic dinner, (if the food quality had been better..)

headed back early to get more rest bcos it would be one long day at Pulau Payar the next day :) anyway, tv channels are sooooo limited tt we watch National Geog and Discovery Channel till we fall asleep every night.
